Having a right skill sets, good resume is not enough to get you a job.
You need to convey your experience to the employer and ensure him/her you are the right candidate.
Following are the Do’s and Dont’s tips to help you make the best impress on the interview.
Do's
- Research about the company, the current industry trend, the job profile, and what kind of interview you are going to have before hand.
- Make sure the dress code before the interview.
- Prepare 2 set of your own resume, in case they did not bring it.
- Arrive 15 minutes before the interview starts
- Give a firm handshake, maintain eye contact with the interviewer.
- If you do not know the answer, do say so. Do not trying to give the wrong answer or mislead the interviewer.
- Be honest about yourself and your background
- Prepare one or two questions, in case they ask “Do you have any question?”
- Thank the interviewer for him/her time and send a thank you note later.
Dont's
- Late for the interview
- Talk negative commend about your current/previous company and boss.
- Speak too long- not concise and specific
- Ask about the salary – this question might show money is the main driven factor for you on your career path.
- Forgot to turn off your cell phone.
